Hosting a Student Placement

Many of our partners from industry and other stakeholders have pledged to host placements for our CDT PhD studentships typically for 1-3 months. These provide an opportunity for the student to experience a different perspective and working environment within the broad field of organ-chip technology and associated predictive in vitro models. The placement also provides further opportunity for the hosting organisation to provide bespoke training and experience that would be useful for a potential employee in their organisation.

In addition to those organisations sponsoring a PhD studentship, we welcome other organisations , such as charities, regulatory authorities and start-ups, to host a placement. The student will continue to receive their stipend with the host organisation expected to cover any expenses related to the work conducted during the placement. Additional funding is possible via the CDT to cover items such as temporary relocation, travel and child care.
