Interests
My research primarily deals with molecular physiology, structure-function, protein-protein interactions, and regulation of epithelial transporters (ions and nutrients) to dynamically regulate their transport activity in the intestine under basal and in the pathobiology of epithelial linked disease, specifically gastrointestinal diseases as well as respiratory and renal diseases. Established specialization in identifying the potential mechanisms involved in infection-induced intestinal inflammation, immune response. I am interested and exploring pathways, mechanisms, and metabolic gene reprogramming in epithelial cells in hyperuricemia that drives metabolic and renal disease.
