Interests

We study gene and protein networks implicated in cellular fitness and metabolism, neurodegeneration, cancer and ageing. Our aim is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms and principles behind senescence and lifespan and apply this knowledge for the amelioration of age-related diseases. We utilise cell-based systems and phenocopy in vivo normal and pathological situations using human neuronal and fibroblastic systems. We have established ageing and neurodegeneration models and can intervene genetically and pharmacologically.
