To determine the mechanisms of drug resistance in HNSCC, an in vitro 3D spheroid model can be used to mimic HNSCC tumours. Using a combination of RNA-Seq analysis and biochemical techniques, this knowledge can be used to investigate a drug-gene interaction that may counteract chemoresistance.
