Interests
The Evans Lab focusses on the intricate biology of endothelial cells, the vital lining of blood vessels. Our primary focus lies in unraveling the mechanisms by which these cells react to the mechanical forces induced by the circulation of blood. Specifically, we use in vitro flow systems to explore the connection between endothelial responses to shear stress and the development of atherosclerosis. This disease, responsible for heart attacks and strokes, stands as a significant contributor to mortality and disability.Publications
