Research

Neuroprotection, Neurorepair, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic brain injury, Ageing and neurodegeneration, Development of new drugs

Interests

I use 2D cell cultures (cortical cells; dorsal root ganglion cells) to test pro-regenerative and neuroprotective compounds, and to study white matter and how to protect it during ageing or after trauma (oligodendrocyte-enriched cultures). I have also just started a new project to study axonopathy in various models of diseases, whereby neurospheres are grown in a microfluidic chamber to funnel the growth of a bundle of axons into a microchannel.
