Interests

We are developing novel therapeutics to slow down inflammation and repair damage to human tissues with the vision of restoring normal function. We use multi-disciplinary tools involving engineering, materials and biology to investigate the effects of stress caused by extreme heat, air pollution, microbial or infectious factors on inflammatory signalling pathways. Human tissues include the maternal and fetal organs.

Our research efforts are focused on translational investigation with the aim of delivering novel therapeutics that restore a healthy ageing phenotype. For example, Tina is Chief Investigator for a clinical trial (NCT06340971) investigating how the environment affects pregnancy outcomes and preterm birth (REC 24/EE/0047).
