Fluigent products enable the replication of dynamic shear stress and varied flow profiles supporting a wide range of in vitro models. The systems can be used within incubator environments and/or integrating with microscopy setups.

Microfluidic Technology

Fluigent, the leader in pressure-driven flow control, has offered innovative microfluidic solutions for researcher and industry for more than 17 years.  Within the Centre, Fluigent Microfluidic Systems have been used since 2021, providing precise dynamic physiological flow conditions. Among its broad-ranging tools, the Flow EZ™ sets the benchmark for precision in pressure-based microfluidics, while the Omi™ transforms organ-on-chip technology with its ability to control the flow environment. The Omi platform is not currently available within the Centre.

Flow EZ™: Microfluidic flow controller

The Flow EZTM system offers unmatched control of pressure and flow rates. Unlike syringes or peristaltic pumps, it ensures a smooth and pulse-free flow, making it ideal for cell-based studies. It offers:

  • Modular Design: Supports integration of pressure sensors, a wide range of pressure controllers, and valves, allowing for tailored configurations to meet experimental needs.
  • Complex Flow Capabilities: Enable the design of intricate microfluidic circuits with an easy setup and precise control over multiple flow parameters.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Includes the software that controls the microfludic parameters to ensure experimental accuracy as well as synchronizes flow control with microscopy, enabling  single-cell imaging, time-lapse studies, and more.

Designed to meet the demands of life science research, the Flow EZ™ system has proven effective in applications such as cellular assays, drug screening, and lab-on-a-chip systems
